Learn to Work

With the Body,

Not Against It

Most approaches try

to 'correct' the body.

Ortho-Bionomy takes a different approach:

It works by supporting the body’s natural self-corrective reflexes, using comfort, awareness, and precise positioning.

This allows change to happen:

Without force

Without strain

And often more effectively

A Structured Learning Arc

Each weekend is designed to stand alone, but together they create a clear progression:

1. Movement Awareness Learn to observe, follow, and understand how the body naturally moves.

2. Core Integration Work with the spine and centre to support balance and stability.

Each step builds on the last—making the learning faster, easier, and more fun.

Stop Focusing on Fixing the Body and Learn to Work With It

Many approaches rely on correction, pressure, or trying to “fix” what seems wrong.

But that often leads to more resistance, more effort, and limited results.

Ortho-Bionomy offers a different way.

Instead of working against the body, you'll learn how to work with it—using comfort, position, and awareness to support the body’s own self-corrective response. When the nervous system is met where it is, rather than pushed where it “should” be, change happens more naturally, more effectively, and often with far less effort.

Meet Your Instuctors

In this training, you’ll to develop a greater sensitivity and understanding of comfort.

Learn how to recognize ease, follow the body’s cues, and support meaningful change without force.

Marie Long - Advanced Instructor

Former President, OBAC

(Ortho-Bionomy Association of Canada)

Marie Long brings decades of experience in Ortho-Bionomy practice and education. As a former president of the Ortho-Bionomy Association of Canada (OBAC), she has played a key role in supporting the growth and integrity of the work within the professional community.

Her work reflects a deep understanding of the principles of Ortho-Bionomy: emphasizing comfort, awareness, and the body’s natural ability to self-correct. Students often appreciate her clear guidance, depth of knowledge, and ability to create a calm, supportive learning environment.

Marie is especially passionate about helping students develop sensitivity, confidence, and trust in their own perception, skills that extend far beyond technique.

Jacob McGill - Instructor

Former OBAC Board Member

Jacob brings a grounded and experiential approach to Ortho-Bionomy, shaped in part by nearly 20 years of Aikido.

OB itself draws from both osteopathic principles and martial arts philosophy, particularly the idea of working with the body rather than against it. Jacob’s background complements this approach, emphasizing the ability to follow rather than force. Ortho-Bionomy was the inspiration to study Aikido.

In his work, this shows up as a focus on simplicity, clarity, and direct experience, helping students quickly understand how small, precise adjustments can create meaningful shifts in comfort and mobility.

Jacob is especially interested in how awareness and relationship—rather than effort—can lead to lasting change.

A Shared Path

Marie and Jacob first met in their very first Ortho-Bionomy class over 27 years ago.

Since then, they’ve continued to study, practice, and teach the work—each bringing their own perspective while sharing a deep respect for the principles at the heart of Ortho-Bionomy.

Together, they create a learning environment that is both structured and relaxed, supporting exploration, confidence, and real skill development.
